I'm slowly (as normal) getting things recorded and here are a few new things and old.

This album, 'Pieces' are essentially working pieces of music that I will change from time to time and add new versions. I like evolution in music and wish I had time to write a few versions of everything.

I will soon put up a second album and I'm not sure of the name yet, but it will be mostly acoustic guitar instrumentals; music I have been working on and playing many years. This is the first music I created - some of these things date back 20 years and are kind of elementary to me but still held dear.

Enjoy!

Here are a few pieces I made in FL Studio - they're just blurbs and I have a ton of these things. I'm trying to actually develop them in to full length songs and then maybe toss some guitar and lyrics on top and be happy!

Goofilingus - This piece is one that I used as a ring tone and have several versions with varying structure.

I'm currently working to move these to last.fm.

Hopefully, I can get the player setup tonight.

The music I write PDF Print E-mail

The music I write is for what I hope to be, slightly original. I know it's difficult to find your own thing and that part of it, either obviously or of coincidence, sounds like something or someone else. I have made it a point for over 20 years, to isolate mself and my playing in ways that would hopefully yield something that was unique. I'm not sure I really ever made it there but I do tend to be original however even with my best effort, a lot of influence shows and shows in odd ways that I never really thought of: I ended up playing some things like people who were fans of the same things that I was and influenced similarly. If that really makes sense...

I have a long way to go to get to where I want to be with playing and styles. I had a wreck that resulted in me not being able to play for over a year without pain; I now have little pain but it changed me and my playing. I couldn't use a pick at first and decided that finger style would be the easiest way - I could work on song writing and structure and open the door to another level of diversity. I think I wish I had worked with my fingers a lot more than what I have... I wish I had started this way - 23 years later... bah! It's a shitload harder to move a certain direction as you get older and learned in your ways. All eh best bad habit sayings come to mind right now - yet, I still think and know that being a continuous student is the best method by far - I remember reading that in a Joe Satriani interview back when I was young and it stuck with me. I haven't alwas stuck to it but the notion has been there and from time to time I get back in that groove and crank out something that really sounds different.

I'll have to come back to this page later but I'm actively working on things now and I still have a few days left on vacation!
